ビルゲイツさんの出身校 Lakeside School
改築で（現在工事中の所が多い）より美しくになった名門、ワシントン州立大学University of Washington を訪問後、まだ日が高かったのでビルゲイツさんの出身校Lakeside School に行った。UWから５番の高速道路を使って１０分ほど、NE 145th Streetで降りる。２度目の訪問だが、今回はアポイントなし、明るいとはいえ６時近かったので先生とは話すことができなかった。住宅街のあり閑静なたたずまいで学習環境は最高である。もちろん、進学校として地元での評判も高い。 外国人にも門戸を開いている。英語力がないと入学できないので、転校先として将来チャレンジするのもいいだろう。Middle school 5-8th, Upper school 9-12thシアトル近郊で学校選択を考えている方にはお勧めします。 ゲイツ家の家庭教育、食事の時に親子が質疑応答をすることは有名ですが、それだけではなくLakeside校で受けた教育も彼の成功に大きく影響しているとのこと。 あさい
